Texas Small Business Rebuild Initiative (TSBRI) Grant Application

Coastal Bend United and Rebuild Texas Fund are pleased to announce the Texas Small Business Rebuild Initiative (TSBRI). Grants will be available for the third and final time. Coastal Bend United is a network of Chambers of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureaus and Economic Development Corporations in the Coastal Bend region that have been working hard to provide grants from $500 and up, not to surpass $5000, to hurricane-impacted small businesses located in Nueces, Aransas and San Patricio counties. Funding assistance is provided by the Rebuild Texas Fund, a project of the Michael and Susan Dell and the One Star Foundations. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2018. We’re LiftFund, for over twenty years we've provided millions of dollars in microloans and other small business loans to deserving entrepreneurs. We’re a non-profit organization, headquartered in Texas that helps small business owners with limited access to capital have a chance to live their dreams. Texas Department of Agriculture

The Texas Legislature established the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) in 1907. The agency's key objectives are to promote production agriculture, consumer protection, economic development and healthy living. The agriculture commissioner oversees the agency and is elected every four years. The current commissioner, Sid Miller, was elected in 2014. 

TDA is a diversified state agency that provides value-added services through our regulatory and marketing and initiatives. TDA is headquartered in Austin and has five regional service offices, two sub-offices, three laboratories and five livestock export facilities.

TDA’s mission is to partner with all Texans to make Texas the nation's leader in agriculture, fortify our economy, empower rural communities, promote healthy lifestyles, and cultivate winning strategies for rural, suburban and urban Texas through exceptional service and the common threads of agriculture in our daily lives.

The Governor’s Business and Community Development Division pursues business expansion and relocation with the goal of developing job creation and export opportunities for Texas. Comprised of three areas, this division is made up of the Department of Strategic Business Development, Department of Business Assistance and the Office Economic Development Finance.

Department of Business Development

The Strategic Business Development Department serves as the conduit to the business recruitment and project management process. This team identifies and develops both domestic and international investment leads and works with prospective companies who are considering locating or expanding in Texas. The department also serves as a vital contributor to the overall mission of the office by assisting in marketing efforts and initiatives in partnership with the Texas Economic Development Corporation.

Department of Business Assistance

The Department of Business Assistance serves domestic and international businesses of all sizes, interested in doing business in Texas. The team is responsible for strengthening the competitiveness of Texas’ industries by promoting international business and tradesmall business advocacy, entrepreneurial support, as well as industry engagement, and assisting with permitting, licensing and regulatory compliance. The department also houses the State of Texas Mexico Office, which seeks to help Mexican companies enter the Texas market or aid Texas companies looking to do business in Mexico, and the Office of Aerospace and Aviation, which aims to promote and grow the aerospace and aviation industry in Texas.

Office of Economic Development Finance

The Department of Economic Development Finance provides globally competitive, cost-effective financial tools to expanding businesses operating in the state and businesses relocating to Texas. Programs administered by this office include various grants, financing and tax refund programs which all promote economic development, job creation and capital investment. The office partners with local governments and other entities to deliver programs targeted at small businesses, communities and universities in the state, among other entities.
